Thinking about the end of year show.

I am looking forward to the end of year Fashion Shows this year. I just hope we don't have the insane workload we had last year. None of us minds hard work, hopefully the first years are willing to do their fair share to get everything running smoothly.

Check out the Plymouth College of Art website for the show details.

Still not done yet.....

It was feedback and evaluation day today. I actually did alright, very pleased with my final pieces and my evaluation is ok, fair score to carry forward into next year....
Already planning next years BA collection, I have a silhouette and colour palette that I believe work well together. My plan is to not walk stick-insects for the collection. If I can get them I want girls with curves, UK size 14 and 16 and even 18, providing that they are tall. 5' 9'' or taller.
So, if there is anyone out there confident in their skin and great in big heels contact.

Foundation Degree Collection.

I have had a great time this term.
The collection is very much what I wanted to produce.
Fabric has been more difficult to source as the main
supplier in Plymouth closed down, so a lot of material
came from the same place in Truro.
My favorite fabric is the silk linen wool blend, used in the coat dress.

Having fun !!!

     VARIATIONS ON THE THEME .......

I AM HAVING MORE FUN THAN I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM NOT VERY COMPUTER LITERATE.
BUT YOU SEE, I HAVE A SECRET WEAPON,
I HAVE A SMILLS....

THESE ARE SOME OF THE VARIATIONS ON A THEME WE HAVE BEEN ASKED TO PRODUCE. IT IS POSSIBLE I MADE TOO MANY CHANGES TO SOME OF THE GARMENTS AND THEY MAY NOT LOOK MUCH LIKE THE SOURCE GARMENT FROM THE COLLECTION. BUT, I REALLY LIKE THEM.

I HAVE ALREADY STARTED TO MAKE PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR, I WANT TO MAKE PLUS SIZE GOWNS FOR "BIG BIRDS".
I HAVE REALLY ENJOYED DEVELOPING THIS POCKET DRESS DESIGN . I BELIEVE THIS IS A SHAPE THAT CAN BE TAKEN FORWARD INTO A PLUS SIZE DESIGN......

Forward Planning

If you haven't gathered it by now, I am mildly OCD. I like to be in control of everything around me. This means that I have already put in place my work schedule for next term, construction of my collection. I have planned for 12 pieces, so when I get my feedback next Wednesday I will know how many I am allowed to make. As is usual for me I am champing at the bit to start, so, I am starting with some crochet and knitwear pieces as they take the longest to produce.

Colours and Cut

The colour palette has been taken from antique Japanese prints,
warm earth tones, soft greens/ indigo and maroons.

I am concentrating on the cut and tailoring,
as I would like to take the theme forward into next year.
My plan is to produce a plus size collection next year
and that will require careful cutting and finishing.

Year 2

I have been sketching like a fiend and got lots of ideas for my year 2 collection.
Now I will refine the ideas and make sure my research is all in order.
I will be playing with fitting and frilly.

1950's tailoring, masculine and strong,
enhanced with crochet and knitwear.
